There goes Christmas.

There were snow angels (with the little amount of snow we had), Christmas craft sales, a night at a most beautiful bed and breakfast, waking up in the city to a fresh blanket of snow, singing carols, our annual trek to the Christmas tree farm, Christmas with our families, too much Christmas baking and turkey dinners, walks on the river, a gluten-free bake exchange, setting up of our tree, and lots of family time. Our little family of two. We are happy and thankful for another Christmas together - making our own traditions and memories.

I have to ask myself whether I really prepared my heart for this Christmas season. I'm not sure I really relished in it, or whether I thought enough about the One who came to this earth in such a humble way - the One who would eventually save us. So, I'm looking ahead to 2012, and in a sense preparing my heart and mind for what may come in the new year. I have no idea what this new year will bring, but I'll be sure to be listening and watching, to sit back and enjoy what's been given to me so freely. In the quiet moments, may we recognize his voice and hear what truly needs to be heard.

Happy new year!
